Unable to Connect

Keep getting Unable to connect. Reinstalled Itunes Fusion, rebooted, opened and closed all apps. Keeps giving the screenshot error, and as you can see Itunes is open. You say yes, and it keeps coming back, say no, and the window opens, but no playlists are listed.

VERY Annoying!

Thanks for the heads up! We'll test this out here to see what we can find out. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have more news!

We weren't able to reproduce this issue here. Would you be able to send us a debug log? Here are the steps:
  • On the Troubleshooting tab, change the Logging drop-down to "L1: Log Minimal"
  • Restart iTunesFusion
  • Reproduce the issue and note the time so we'll know where to check in the log file
  • Send us the %%APPDATA%%\iTunesFusion\iTunesFusion.log file (can be found by clicking the Open Log button on the Troubleshooting tab)
  • Disable debug logging after sending the log

Thanks!

Thanks!

Could you try opening an Administrative Command Prompt and run the following commands?

Code

It won't show any output when it runs, but give that a go and then restart ITF. Please let me know how it works out :)

Ok, would you be able to try a full re-install of iTunes?

Already did, and ITF. Does it matter that my iTunes library is stored in a different place than the default?

Ok, that's strange! It shouldn't make a difference, but we'll check into that as well.

It is stored on my larger RAID1 D: Drive. My boot drive is an SSD.

Could you try rolling back to iTunesFusion 2.4? Here's a download link for that: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Files/iTunesFusion/iTunesFusionSetup-2.4.exe

If that works, could you try 2.5? Here's the link for that as well: https://www.binaryfortress.com/Files/iTunesFusion/iTunesFusionSetup-2.5.exe

2.4 gets further, but won't see playlists... Attached screenshot.

2.5 gives the exact same error as previously posted.

Ok, in 2.4 on the Settings > iTunes Fix tab, if you click the Repair button, then try the playlist selector again, is it still broken?

Ok, could you try running the following command at a command prompt, then attach the resulting iTunes.reg file that will show up on your desktop?

Code

Can you attach the file that would have been created using the steps in my last post so that I can have a quick look at it?

Thanks!

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{DC0C2640-1415-4644-875C-6F4D769839BA}\LocalServer32]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\iTunes\\iTunes.exe\""

It is simply the path to the iTunes exe, which is the correct location...

Ok, just wanted to make sure that was good. Was iTunesFusion working for you in a previous version, or previously with the latest version even?

We've just released a new beta version and you can now force repair the iTunes COM API in the iTunesFusion Settings. You can grab it from the link below, or enable Beta update checks in the iTunesFusion Settings.

https://www.itunesfusion.com/Download/Beta/

Could you test it out and let us know if you still run into any trouble?

Thanks!

Hi All,

sorry for reviving this old thread, but I had the exact same error on WIN10 64 BIT 1703. I resolved it by executing the installation of iTunesFusion with Admin rights.

Just wanted to share.

Cheers,
Alex
