Itunes fusion speed

I am using the latest Itunes and Itunes Fusion. I am updating an AGPTek A01 MP3 player to an additional micro SD card over an USB 2 connection. I am using a Toshiba laptop W10 with an I5 processor, 8Gb memory and 2 SSD disks.

I am very happy with the functionality and reliability but have one query. Is there anything I can do to increase the transfer speed. It rarely goes above 1Mb; occasionaly bursts to 3.2 but mainly is in the 8-900 Kb range.

This was the same on earlier versions of Fusion and Itunes and W7. I have the latest firmware in the MP3 player.

This is not a complaint just a wish to improve my speed.

I'm not sure, to be honest! If you manually copy files using File Explorer, is it faster than iTunesFusion?

Good suggestion!

I tried copying 13 files from the same source of podcasts and to the same drive on the MP3 player as I use in Itunesfusion. Unfortunately I could not capture the File Explorer graph but it seemed to be showing between 2.5 and 3 MB/s all the time. I also used the same USB cable.

One other thing is I use the option to let Itunesfusion to manage its own . Is this worth considering?

Please do not spend too much time on this query unless there is an easy answer.

Ok, interesting! You can definitely try adjusting the buffer size on the Advanced tab. Other than that I'm not sure what to do there, sorry
