Artwork Not Showing

Hi,

Hope someone can help. I have just copied my music onto a USB drive to use in my car. The majority of the songs are showing the artwork ok but the there are quite a few that are blank and I can't seem to find a solution. Within ITunes itself all songs are showing that they have album art - I have created a Smart Playlist for "Has Artwork is false". Searching my songs in explorer (win10) and viewing in large icons I cannot spot an songs that do not show the artwork.

I'm a bit OCD about this sort of thing so I would like to get it sorted - any advice on how to easily identify which songs are affected and how to resolve the issue will be most appreciated.

Thanks

Steve

My only guess would be that the stereo doesn't like the format of the artwork for some of the files. You could try enabling the resize album art option in the Sync Profile, which should convert them all to regular jpg format I believe.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Keith for the reply I'll give it a try. Will I have to force a full resync or will it do the artwork automatically. it has about 34k songs so will take several hours.

Regards,
Steve

You'll have to force a full sync. iTunesFusion doesn't check the artwork for changes when syncing

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the prompt advice. I tried it on a smaller device with only a few albums and unfortunately it didn't work. I did discover that a couple of the folders didn't contain a jpg file so I thought this may be the problem however I then discovered an album that wasn't showing the artwork that did have a jpg file in the folder.

It does seem that if I identify a particular album where the art work is not showing and then re-add the artwork with iTunes it will then show up. My problem is that iTunes shows there is no missing artwork as does windows media player and explorer so it is very difficult to identify the problem albums - other than making a list as an when they show it the car and then updating them individually. Even with my fixation for ensuring things work properly I'm not sure this is worth the effort.

Do you have another suggestions I can try?

Thanks,
Steve

Only artwork that is embedded in the file will be synced, iTunesFusion won't sync artwork that is in the folder as a jpg, sorry.

Hi Jon,
Thanks for the update. Do you know of any way of checking which files have the artwork embedded. As mentioned the songs seem to be showing the artwork when I view them as medium / large icons in explorer and iTunes tells me there is no missing artwork and they all show ok on my iPod or iPhone.

Thanks,
Steve

You should be able to use something like MP3Tag to see if the files have the artwork embedded. I personally use it for bulk-updating media files and it works great.
